From a Love of Audiobooks to a Shared Vision

During Taley's idea phase, Adam, Laura, Simon, Jules, and Hermann came together around something that had stayed with them since childhood: a love of audiobooks and worlds brought to life by voices and imagination.

💡 The Short Version

  • The Origin: A shared love of audiobooks and early conversations in Stuttgart.
  • The Spark: ChatGPT was new and AI was everywhere, yet personal, child-friendly, learning-oriented audio stories were missing.
  • Today: Experiments became a prototype, and five perspectives became one mission.

When AI Could Suddenly Tell Stories

When ChatGPT was new and AI was at the center of the hype, the team began exploring what the technology might make possible with language and storytelling. Amid the excitement, they saw a gap: few experiences combined a child's own ideas, child-friendly boundaries, active listening, and learning prompts in one audio story.

Conversations became small experiments, and experiments became a prototype. Taley did not come from one founder's flash of insight, but from shared questions: How can children choose characters and paths? How can audio remain central? How can parents stay involved and safety be designed in from the start?

"We didn't want to build an app that keeps children glued to a screen. We wanted an app that helps them close their eyes and dream."

Five People, One Shared Mission

Adam, Laura, Simon, Jules, and Hermann brought different skills and perspectives to that early phase. Together, they shaped Taley into a personal audio storyteller for children ages 3 to 10, intended to connect imagination, language, curiosity, and safe participation. Today's team is carrying that vision forward.

📅 Our Path

  • Stuttgart: Conversations about audiobooks, AI, and a missing kind of personal audio adventure set the idea in motion.
  • Experimenting: The team tests story structures, choices, and age-aware learning prompts and builds a prototype.
  • Hamburg today: From its current team base, Taley is being developed toward a beta that families and institutions can help shape.

Why "Taley"?

The name comes from "Tale". But the "y" stands for the "Why" and "You". It's about your story.

We believe that every child deserves to be the hero of their own world. When a familiar name appears in an adventure with dragons and spaceships, a story can feel especially close and invite the child to keep building ideas of their own.

🏠 Stuttgart Roots, Hamburg Base

The idea has its roots in Stuttgart. Today, the team works from Hamburg on the next stage of development.

❤️ Built Together

Parents, educators, and children should shape the beta through real feedback, keeping the idea close to family life.

Our Vision for 2030

We want to build more than another app. Our vision is a world where technology gives children more room for imagination, empathy, and real conversation.

One day, Taley should help families and institutions reduce language barriers and listen together again instead of scrolling in isolation.

Join Our Journey.

We are building Taley for you and your children. Help us do it. Your feedback is our fuel.

Questions for the Team

What stage is Taley in?

Taley is in development. The team is working on the product concept and a prototype and preparing a beta. We will share scope, timing, and access once they are reliable.

How can I help shape Taley?

Parents, educators, and institutions can join the beta waitlist and share what matters to them. That feedback should help shape features, safety, and everyday usefulness.
