Taley wasn't born in a boardroom with business plans. Taley was born from a very simple, very human question on a cozy evening in Stuttgart, Germany: "Why are there only apps that silence children instead of empowering them?"
💡 The Short Version
- The Origin: A simple idea among friends in Stuttgart.
- The "Why": Frustration with addictive, ad-filled kids' apps.
- The Vision: Using technology to make the *real* world magical again – through audio.
The Moment of Realization
It was the summer of 2024. I (Adam) was sitting with friends. Some of us had nieces, nephews, or little siblings. The topic was always the same: "As soon as I give her the tablet, she's zoned out. But when I take it away, there are tears."
We realized a fundamental problem: Most apps are programmed to capture the child's attention – with flashing lights, fast cuts, and endless reward loops. That's good for the app developers' ad revenue, but bad for the child's brain.
"We didn't want to build an app that keeps children glued to a screen. We wanted an app that helps them close their eyes and dream."
The Rocky Road to MVP
An idea is easy. Execution is hard. None of us had millions in the bank. We were (and are) neighbors, students, visionaries. We worked through nights, wrote code, deleted it again, and talked to hundreds of parents.
📅 Our Milestones
- Summer 2024: The idea is born on a balcony. First sketches on napkins.
- Autumn 2024: The first prototype. The AI tells a story about a "blue frog" who loves pizza. Children laugh. We know: This is it.
- 2025: Establishing the advisory board. We bring educators on board to ensure Taley is not just fun, but educational.
- Today: Taley is about to launch. The idea has become a movement.
Why "Taley"?
The name comes from "Tale". But the "y" stands for the "Why" and "You". It's about *your* story.
We believe that every child deserves to be the hero of their own world. When a child hears their name mentioned in an adventure with dragons and spaceships, something magical happens: self-confidence grows. "I matter. I can solve problems."
We don't operate from an anonymous Silicon Valley office. Our "headquarters" is a shared apartment kitchen in Stuttgart.
We turned down offers from investors who wanted to put "toy advertisements" into the stories. Never.
Our Vision for 2030
We don't just want to be an app. We want to become the standard for digital education. We dream of a world where technology makes children *more human* – more creative, more empathetic, more communicative.
Taley should be used in schools to overcome language barriers. It should help parents and children listen *together* again, instead of scrolling in isolation.
